At Florida Countertop Factory, what we build goes far beyond countertops. We build trust, relationships, and spaces where families gather, celebrate, and create memories. Before we were business owners, we were simply two people chasing opportunity, guided by hard work, faith, and a belief that dedication always opens doors.

Our Journey to the United States
We are both immigrants who came to this country with big dreams and a willingness to work for them.
I arrived from Colombia at 18 years old, determined to pursue higher education and build a future through learning and perseverance. Balázs came from Romania at 23, bringing with him a strong European foundation in craftsmanship, discipline, and technical knowledge; values that continue to influence how we operate today.
Balázs completed his bachelor’s degree in Sibiu, Romana in Linguistics, a field that not only led him to speak five languages fluently, but also nurtured his deep curiosity for different cultures and his natural ability to connect and communicate across diverse backgrounds. I earned both my Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Master’s Degree in Construction Management from Florida International University (FIU). Our education gave us the technical understanding of problem solving, construction, project coordination, and management, but our life experiences shaped the way we serve people.
A Decade of Customer Service Before Entrepreneurship
Before starting Florida Countertop Factory, we both spent over ten years working in customer service, Balázs built his career in the hospitality industry, where attention to detail, organization, and customer experience were essential, while I worked in retail, developing strong client relationships and a deep understanding of service and project coordination. Those years were invaluable. They taught us that successful projects are not just about measurements and materials, they are about communication, reliability, and treating every client with respect. Most importantly, it taught us that success comes from hard work and sacrifices.
We learned what worked. We also saw what didn’t.
And we knew we wanted to create something better.

The Turning Point
Like many families, COVID brought unexpected challenges. Job uncertainty, a changing economy, and welcoming a new baby forced us to pause and ask ourselves an important question: What kind of future do we want to build for our family and for others?
That moment became the foundation of Florida Countertop Factory. What began as a leap of faith quickly became a mission-driven company focused on quality work, honest relationships, and creating opportunities not just for ourselves, but for our growing team.
